Myongsasimni (Wonsan) Water Park Project in North Korea
Myongsasimni Water Park, also known as Wonsan Water Park, is located within the Wonsan-Kalma Coastal Tourist Area in Wonsan, North Korea.
The water park covers more than 38,000 square metres. It represents a total investment of approximately USD 120 million and was planned to receive more than 100,000 visitors annually.
Developed as North Korea’s first large-scale water park with an international-standard attraction configuration, the water park was identified in the project documentation as one of the country’s key tourism projects for 2025.
Guangdong Dalang Water Park Equipment Co., Ltd. was responsible for equipment manufacturing and supply, on-site installation guidance, commissioning and acceptance support. The wider Wonsan-Kalma Coastal Tourist Area was completed in June 2025 and began receiving visitors in July 2025.

Featured Attractions
The project combines high-thrill slides, customized raft attractions, water sports and family-oriented facilities. The following attractions represent four of the principal equipment highlights documented in project photographs.
Flying Fish Slide
The Flying Fish Slide provides a high-thrill body-sliding experience. Riders accelerate along an open slide before briefly becoming airborne and entering the landing pool.
Whirlwind Raft Combination
Configured specifically for the project, the Whirlwind Raft Combination incorporates a large wave-swing element and creates a shared high-thrill experience for raft riders.
The attraction demonstrates how different slide elements can be combined according to a project’s site layout and intended visitor experience.
Spiral and Bowl-Style Slides
A combination of open and enclosed spiral slides, high-speed sections and large bowl-style elements provides different experiences of speed, turning and descent.
The interconnected slide structures form a prominent part of the park’s skyline and contribute to a varied attraction mix within the main slide area.
Surf Simulator
The water-sports area includes an Olympic-standard Surf Simulator.
According to the project’s contractual technical specifications, the simulator uses German wave-generation technology and supports 10 wave modes for different levels of simulated surfing experience.
The water park also includes children’s slides, interactive water-play facilities and a Lazy River, creating a balanced attraction mix for thrill-seekers, families and leisure visitors.
